Why get so riled by the events of the world, you ask? Because…
"Becoming a mother makes you the mother of all children. From now on each wounded, abandoned, frightened child is yours. You live in the suffering mothers of every race and creed and weep with them. You long to comfort all who are desolate."
Charlotte Gray

I’m in the “No One” camp. I’m going to hope against hope that I’m wrong and he’ll endorse Obama, but I think that is too much to expect. Racial politics vs. DC politics make it so extremely difficult for him, IMO.

Interesting question. I’ll guess no one or McCain, based on past politics.

Suddenly because Powell is endorsing obama he is not as evil as he used to be? Yet, Powell was the one encouraging the Iraq war claiming they had WMD. Anyone with intelligence knows that Powell is endorsing based on race.
98% of black people are voting for obama just because he is black. White people are split between obama, nadar, and McCain. Think about it.
The truth is this is a race campaign. The Democrats control the senate and congress and have the lowest approval rating in US history. The Democrats couldn’t even beat Bush in the elections thus why they are going after the black vote in the US, about 45 million blacks. Thus, why obama voted present over 130 times, avoided the tough issues, and never challenged his party leaders on senate to preserve his political career. Only 143 days on state senate when he decided to run for office.
The Democrats lost because the US is not a socialist/communist system. Americans fought against Nazi Germany, their socialist party, and communist USSR for decades, just to name a few.
Again, Clinton supported deregulation and introduced FTAs like NAFTA. That is why the US economy was strong during his administration. McCain also supports deregulation and fights for FTAs like NAFTA. These initiatives will help our economy. Our economy is very important, McCain is better for our economy. I hope people get educated before they vote.
US businesses create US jobs. obama wants to limit the growth of US businesses, which is limiting the growth of US jobs. If you increase tax on US businesses they will either just relocate to a lower tax country taking American jobs with them, pass the added tax cost to consumers or go bankrupt. GM and Ford can barely compete globally and obama wants to tax them more. The smaller businesses that are reliant on GM and Ford will also be greatly affected, destroying more US jobs.
The US is the land of opportunity not the land of equal outcome. Why should government take your money and give it to people who are already on welfare to spread the wealth?

Thanks for your comment Sarah. I wholeheartedly disagree with you in every way possible of course.
I served under Colin Powell and I can assure you that his decisions are not based on race. Some people, many people have evolved pass the racial question. I understand if you haven’t but that is not the case in all homes and hearts in America.
I don’t disagree with your assertion that Powell did sell the American people on WMD in Iraq. The tell-tale on the other side of the coin is that he also resigned not too long after. If I had to bet, his resignation was a result of the fact that the Bush/Cheney/Rove machine lied to him just as it lied to us.
Where is your statistic coming from that the Democrats have the lowest approval rating in history? I find that absurd: we wouldn’t have the lead in the presidential race (by double digits no less), nor would GOP reps around the country be sweating their seats if this was remotely true. If you have a link to counter these thoughts, I’d love to see it.
Sarah, McCain has admitted himself that the economy is his weakest issue. Where in the world do you get the idea that he’s the solution here? Where is his plan to recovery? It changes day to day and only gets worse with each revision.
Deregulation is one of the chief reasons for this housing collapse, I’m not sure where you get your facts, but you might want to read some other things out there that give a less slanted version of the truth.
You can make any speculation you wish (you wove some fine tales with NAFTA here)…it fortunately doesn’t make it reality. Nor is your statement about Obama’s proposed attack on US business. This has been spoon fed by the talking heads on the right, but there is simply no proof of it in his tax plans, his agenda nor his priorities. Again, if you have something to offer in the way of proof that brings you to this conclusion, I’d love to hear it.
GM & Ford have trouble competing because of the union wages they pay, incredibly disproportionate salaries at the higher management levels and their reluctance to change as the global economy invaded their customer base. That can’t be blamed on the Democrats Sarah, that fault lies with the corporations themselves.
I guess the hundreds of thousands of jobs lost in the eight years Mr. Bush has been running things is Obama’s tax plan’s fault also? And please don’t attempt to blame a Democratic-controlled Congress, we didn’t inherit this mess until 2006.
Why is redistribution of wealth when it’s the money of the rich, but needed taxation when it’s my money. We have taken money from citizens fro centuries now to pay the price of being a nation – it’s simply the way it is.
I’m sorry, but a 3% increase to a demographic that has prospered under the many cuts given recklessly by the GOP is not a hardship. There will be no violins playing for the 5% of the population that will suffer a tax increase. Warren Buffet paid a smaller percentage in taxes than his receptionist did in 2006 – how in the world can you assert this is logical or fair?
I pray that the reason for your disdain for Obama is based on issues, my disdain for McCain certainly is. But I fear some voters determined at first sight that Obama would never be their choice and then developed their arguments to suit this. That is sad, but those votes count the same as mine.
Again, thanks for your comment and we’ll simply have to agree to disagree.
GOBAMA.
