The weird thing is, even though I am probably older than all of you *cough cough*, I had never seen “Pretty in Pink” until last year, when I caught most of it on USA or something. I swear in the end she ended up with Duckie. I swear it! I don’t do drugs, and I’m mostly sane, so is it possible they reissued it with the alternate ending?

Maybe I should do drugs.

Also, very nice Duckie you have there, and such a great comparison. : )

wow i love this post. for so so many reasons. first of all, i too suffered with the unruly red hair for many years in the 80s when hair product just did not exist. it took two decades (wtf indeed) for chemists in new jersey to add all the right non-natural chemicals together in a formula that would come close to taming red curly hair. i too thought blaine was the guy. however, i realized, at the time, that *I* was ducky. and i hoped my blaine would get that and recognize my. incredible. value. didn’t happen.

20 years later lovin’ my dreamy ducky too.

oh and my friend gretchen and i had the convent thing all planned out. she was sister maude. i was sister myrtle. or the other way around…good times…

I had to comment here because I just recently started turning my kids on to classic 80′s cinema. I LOVED this movie and soundtrack and I have wee bit of a crush on James Spader, now known as Alan Shore.
